Tony Drake is 24 years old. His Grandfather & Grandmother who are his primary caretakers are in their late 60’s and early 70’s. They live in a little town, Cookeville in Tennessee, under less than desirable circumstances.
They currently have to commute to the Triad from Cookeville, a 750 mile round trip, in order to work on Tony's music. We are helping them move from Cookeville to Winston-Salem/Triad next week. Their lease is up at the end of the month.
Moving him to the Triad has many advantages:
1. The Triad has many facilities for helping folks dealing with autism.
2. There are many musical venues for him to build his showcasing of talent
3. Tony’s manager and mentor, Blues Legend Roy Roberts of Rockhouse Records, lives in
Greensboro. This is where his recording studio is located as well.
Centrally located, close
proximity to the recording studio
4. Helps facilitate the release of his next CD
Tony and his grandparents are on fixed income, all from Social Security and Disability checks. Their current rent is $650 per month and it would be difficult for them to afford any additional payments. With the voluntary help of his attorney, manager, an audio/video producer and a few friends;
1. The Tony Drake website has been setup
2. A 10 minute documentary is now available
3. The Tony Drake Trust Account, an irrevocable trust with his grandparents as the only
authorized users, has been set up at First Community Bank in Winston-Salem.
We have raised enough funds to get them moved next week, pay the deposit for the new rental property and to subsidize the monthly rent for up to $200.00
Your help in assisting this young man with his present and future needs will be greatly appreciated.
